iBride Mural Tray: Goupil

Description

Introducing Goupil, a delightful image of an anthropomorphic red fox featured on an Art Tray… The cunning of the fox is legendary, and Goupil is no different.

Have you ever heard the tale of The Fox and The Stork? The fox was forever laughing and making fun of the stork for it’s odd appearance. One day the fox decided to play a trick on the stork for his own amusement. He decided to invite the stork over for dinner. The fox served soup in a very shallow bowl, which the he could easily lap up, but the stork could not eat. The stork remained calm and did not  fly into a rage. The next night the stork invited the fox over for dinner. The stork served a hot fish dinner inside a tall jar with a very narrow neck. The stork was able to eat using it’s long beak, but the fox couldn’t get to the dinner inside. When the fox lost his temper the stork said something along the lines of  “Do unto others as you would have them do to you”. Well it seems Goupil didn’t like this lesson. If you look closely at the image, it appears that he has just devoured a white bird… perhaps he’d had enough of the stork.
